After a month of leaving it on top of my computer, I tried charging the washed phone up and it worked! Now we have another mini-tablet for using around the house with wi-fi.

After messing around with widgetlocker for too many days and getting it set up right and such, I uninstalled it. It looks pretty and does some things nicely, but in the end it did not work as a lockscreen replacement for me. Too many issues. The default lockscreen “just works”. Function wins over fashion I guess.

Something happened on my machine with MythTV automatically transcoding from NUV to MPEG, so I tried opening the NUV’s in Avidemux. It didn’t work at first, but after renaming the file from .nuv to .mpg, it opened and worked.

I really can’t see any difference in file size or quality, so I think I may just skip the mythtranscode step for now, and just go straight from NUV to XVID.

Had a hiccup with zap2it, it started putting a bunch of “unknown” programs in there. I added these lines to ~/.zap2xmlrc (look at the url on zap2it’s website and change these values to yours)

lineupid = 000000:- postalcode = 000000

After that, cleared ~/cache and ran mythtv-setup, went to channel editor, and deleted all the channels. Then re-ran the tv script and custom mythfilldatabase. All is back to normal.

Also I found you can run USB over cat5e, I’m wondering if VGA can be run over two cables. Guess I’ll find out.
