Finally picked up the Samsung Galaxy S2 that I had been waiting for. Dual 1.2Ghz processors, 4.3″ AMOLED display @ 800×480 and 16GB internal memory. Running Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread.
Buying this, I knew I wanted an Android phone. I wanted to get a new one a few months ago, but all that was out on Sasktel was the HTC Incredible S. Then I read about all the dual-core phones coming out this year. So I waited and I am glad, this is an amazing phone.

Also I bought a screen protector and case for it. I’m still trying to figure out how to carry it around, it’s a bit big for a pocket. Applying the screen protector was kind of scary, but worked great, just followed the directions.

And how cool is that AC adapter. That’s the way to do things right there. After tweaking things for most of the day, I’ve found it easy to configure and use, and will be able to keep in touch with everyone better than with my old phone. Back on the phone nerd after a couple of year hiatus.

First of all, Unity is not even close to being released on the desktop (it is scheduled for Ubuntu 11.04 (Natty Narwhal) in spring 2011).
I am previewing it by typing or pasting into a terminal:
sudo apt-add-repository ppa:canonical-dx-team/une
and then:
sudo apt-get install unity
Ok. Now that that is sorted, after a few days of testing Unity on Ubuntu 10.10, I would have to say that I agree with this.

Went out for another movie to see if we could get the baby to come out! This was exactly what we were looking for, a fun, silly, adventure comedy with aliens and dinosaurs and some really good laughs. If you like the trailer, you’ll like it.
Two of my favorite parts were the scene with the dinosaur urine and the scene with the biggest bug bite ever. Eww!

Well, we went to go see Terminator Salvation last night. Opening day, got to the Mission Silvercity just in time, took a pizza in and were ready to go! We got really good seats, right by the entrance, but no one could block our view. The movie starts, and it is amazing! Really, that is my kind of movie. Great special effects, impossible technology, robots vs humans and lots of firepower.
About half way through, the movie throws us all by showing a character in one scene one minute, then totally different time and place the next. I hope to myself that this is one of those crazy look back look forward kind of things that will all make sense later, but it’s giving away the ending… People start leaving the theater and the lights come on. They have skipped the whole middle of the movie and are showing the end! A guy comes out and explains the movie is built wrong, and they cant rewind it to the right parts, and that we can get a refund. Bummer! So we got passes to see it again. Hopefully we have time this week!

Fun enough idea. Micro-reviews (~170 characters) of movies, music, books, or apps. You choose Love, Like, Dislike or Hate for each thing and write a few paragraphs. I got through a few before I realized you need to have more options and room. Sometimes you don’t write thinking you like or dislike something. Sometimes you don’t write exactly 170 characters to sum it up. So I started doing my reviews where they belong. On my blog. Sometimes you just need a bit of freedom to do whatever.
