Finally sorted out separate Wine prefixes for the games I’m running. Now I won’t break everything when an update comes in, or when I need to add dll’s and such. EverQuest is pretty touchy since it uses directX 9, and typing winetricks commands or adding dll’s to the system32 folder usually messes things up. Morrowind needs some dll’s added, and Lord of the Rings needs a few winetricks.

This is by no means trying to be a how-to, It’s just the way I got it to work.
Copy Install from Windows, Download PyLotro
Into a terminal one at a time: (Line 3 – change to your wine path)
wget http://www.kegel.com/wine/winetricks
chmod +x winetricks
export WINEPREFIX=/home/somebody/.wine
./winetricks vcrun2003
./winetricks d3dx9
Same error. I Ran Pylotro and let it crash, then killed the processes. Then I tried a newer C++ runtime.
Into a terminal:
./winetricks vcrun2005
Run Pylotro again and let it crash a bunch, kill the processes each time till it works. Then set the resolution and key mappings.

To reinstall:
Move Patched (120722) Bethesda Softworks folder into wine directory
Add MSVCP60.DLL from and old system32 directory
Run the game once at 1024×768 to create the registry entries
wine regedit – Local Machine / Software / Bethesda Softworks / Morrowind and set Screen Width to 1680, Screen Height to 1050
Run the game and start a new game then exit
Run the game and pick a save game to play
Alt tab and end pulseaudio (this gets past some problem pulseaudio is causing)
todo: edit key bindings

New Plane for this flight, a new Bombardier CRJ 700. It has 70 seats, Cruises at about 829 Km per Hour, and has approximately a 2655 Km range.

Not tonight though. Pilot needs to sleep, landing in Anchorage, Ted Stevens Airport, right downtown. I’m about 30 minutes away right now, chasing the sun from going down.

10:57 pm: Perfect landing in the dark… nice. Going for beers now.

A fun flight, unfortunately the landing pictures didn’t turn out :( I am using the program Screengrab, and I guess I closed it with a shortcut sometime during the flight. For the landing, I came in way hot and ended up barely making it, it is a real short landing strip coming in from the water from the north! Anyways, here is a few pics from takeoff.

Next I’m off to somewhere on Asia’s east coast, will have to think about what aircraft, route, etc. Anyways I hear there is some fun to be had in Rupert! Cheers!

Taking off From Abbotsford Airport.

Goodbye to the Fraser Valley, I’m off. I chose a Learjet for the speed and comfort of course.

About 62 miles outside Prince George right now, coming in for a late lunch and taking off for further up north.

Edit: After a power outage here (yay laptop!), managed to land! Haven’t crashed yet. /cross fingers

Pizza for lunch! Maybe I’ll spend the night in PG.

Bought the new Microsoft Flight Simulator X Deluxe last week, loaded it up on my laptop and went for a spin. Took a small ride from Abbotsford to Chilliwack, flying over our place and checking out the scenery.

Gonna try and take a trip around the world without crashing. I hope it goes better than last time I tried this! (Flight simulator 2004 – Flew from Vancouver to Anchorage, over to Russia, down towards Japan and crashed somewhere in Asia while I tried to go pee during flight.)
